SUMMARY:Business on Tap - New Faces of Leadership
DESCRIPTION:Business on Tap is a different kind of Chamber event.\n\n \n\nNo name tags. No awkward icebreakers. No forced networking.\n\n\n\nJust real dialogue about what's actually happening in business right now.\n\n\n\nJoin us at Fattey Beer Co. for a laid-back afternoon of conversation\, community\, and perspective-sharing. Our first topic\, "New Faces of Leadership\," will dive into how leadership is changing - from the rise of more authentic and adaptable management styles to the growing importance of diverse experiences\, emotional intelligence\, and workplace culture. Hear from the President of Otterbein University\, Dr. John Comerford\, who is navigating these shifts firsthand - then pull up a chair and join the discussion!\n\n\n\nYour registration includes your first drink - beer\, wine\, cider or non-alcoholic.\n\n\n\nThe conversation wraps at 5PM - stick around after if you want to connect!\n\n\n\n\n \nDr. John Comerford is President of Otterbein University and a vocal advocate for access\, affordability\, and innovation in higher education. Under his leadership\, Otterbein established a scholarship that covers full tuition for Ohio students from families with financial need\; set up a fund to invest in crowdsourced ideas from the University community that would immediately grow enrollment or revenue\; and created a four-year career and professional preparation curriculum guided by trained advisors and mentors so Otterbein graduates are workforce ready.\n\n\n\nComerford also serves as President of the Coalition for the Common Good\, a higher education system of private\, independent nonprofit colleges and universities founded by Otterbein and Antioch Universities to improve equity in education through expanding graduate programs\, workforce development\, and degree completion.\n\n\n\nHe is a board member of the Columbus Council on World Affairs\, Delaware County Finance Authority\, Educational & Institutional Insurance Administrators\, Inc.\, Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Ohio\, and Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges.
