Dr. Helen Kang will lead a choral camp for those entering grades 3 through 12\, 5-8 PM\, Monday\, July 28 through Friday\, August 1. Singers will then offer a capstone concert Friday\, August 1 at 7PM at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church\, 100 E. Schrock Rd\, Westerville\, OH!\n\n\n\nChildren and teens have an innate joy and creativity often expressed by singing. Studies show music offers a multitude of benefits\, including improved language skills\, enhanced memory\, healthy emotional development and increased self-confidence and it's fun!\n\n\n\nThis choral camp will provide participants with an opportunity to appreciate and develop a lifelong love of music and singing\, with the added benefit of belonging to a like-minded group.\n\n\n\nChildren and teens who would like to build self-esteem\, personal discipline\, and artistic development through the universal language of music are invited to participate. Together\, participants will create a fun\, exciting environment where creativity thrives\, varied voices come together in song and everyone has an opportunity to grow. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in organ performance from San Jose State University\, a Master of Music in choral conducting from the University of Nevada-Reno\, and Doctor of Musical Arts in choral conducting from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. She has served as associate conductor of the World Vision Korean Children's Choir\, directing concert choir rehearsals and concerts\, supervising six different education choirs\, organizing overseas concert tours and international choir festivals. Previously\, she has served as the assistant conductor of The Greater Columbus Children's Choir and assistant conductor of The New Choir\, Santa Clara\, CA. She has extensive teaching and speaking experience\, having taught children\, youth and college students!
