She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the YMCA.\n\nPerez Ferguson has been active in politics for over 15 years. She served as Director of Training for the Democratic National Committee. Perez Ferguson has provided leadership and political skills training to women in the United States\, Latin America\, Africa\, Asia and Europe. She was the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives from California in 1990 & 1992. Her other public service positions have included\; Planning Commissioner\, Affirmative Action Commissioner and Chair of the Ethnic Advisory Board for Education in California.
