DESCRIPTION:A follow up to our April luncheon\, "Overcoming Imposter Syndrome" comes a workshop to help you advocate for yourself and the women in your own professional circles.\n\n\n\nThe Westerville Area Chamber's Women in Business network is proud to present Yvonne Cherell\, an accomplished and well-respected social justice advocate in the greater Columbus community of businesswomen!\n\n\n\n...\n\n\n\n\n\nYvonne Cherell is a respected state advocate who fights for social justice\, equity\, and inclusion for all Ohioans. She currently serves as the first CEO for the Ohio Urban Community Action Network (OUCAN)\, whose mission is to empower Ohio's urban Community Action Agencies through education\, networking\, and advocating for policies that alleviate poverty and promote self-sufficiency. In her new role\, Yvonne leads a network of ten urban community action agencies representing 16 counties\, service 56 percent of Ohioans living at or below the federal poverty level.\n\n\n\nWith more than 25 years of career experience in the human services sector\, her eclectic career also includes her own consulting business\, Freeman Focus Management\, Inc.\, a boutique service of short-to-mid-term projects for nonprofit organizations focused on policy development\, analytic research\, and storytelling through data and legislative support.\n\n\n\nYvonne's leadership interests expand across multiple industries and associations dedicated to the betterment of the community. She's the Vice President of DEI&B for NAWBO Columbus\, promoting the chapter's commitment to the full diversity of the women business owner community and to equitably expand access to leadership opportunities for the full spectrum of their membership.\n\n\n\nAs a graduate-fellow of several leadership cohorts and community academies for civic leaders and volunteers\, Yvonne was recently recognized as the first Class of Community Leaders by Mahogany Columbus for her dynamic advocacy and advancing equity. She is currently the International Nominations Chair for Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority\, Inc.\, where she is also a life member celebrating 20 years of membership.\n\n\n\nYvonne Cherell is a proud alumna of Wilberforce University in Wilberforce\, Ohio and is presently pursuing her Master of Public Administration degree at Franklin University. She is the mother of a son who is also an HBCU graduate and member of the Divine Nine. She enjoys a great life with her Love and fur baby in Columbus.
