
Alex Esparza serves as the Crime Prevention Specialist at the Westerville Division of Police and has been with WPD for 10 years. His responsibilities include staying updated on current crime trends, educating citizens about crime prevention techniques, and acting as a liaison between the police and the community of Westerville. In addition, he assists in coordinating programs for the Community Services Bureau and serves as the Commander for the Westerville Youth Public Safety Cadet Post 6709. He is a certified Crime Prevention Specialist through the Ohio Crime Prevention Association and a Nationally Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Prior to joining WPD, he graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in Sociology & Criminology.
Guy Cerino is a police officer with the Westerville Division of Police. He has worked at WPD for 25 years and was previously assigned to 2nd shift patrol. Guy holds the role of Crime Prevention Officer for the Community Services Bureau. His responsibilities include coordinating the department’s Citizen’s Police Academy, presenting community crime prevention initiatives, and supporting Alex Esparza with other community programming for the Community Services Bureau. Before joining WPD, Guy obtained his Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate from Columbus State and worked at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
