Dance away the winter blues with the Westerville Education Challenge (WEC) Rock This Town 80s Party. The fundraiser on February 8, 2020 features The Reaganomics, the Midwest’s most exciting 80s dance and party band, and supports the non-profit’s work to create school cultures where all students feel safe, supported and celebrated.
Since 2009, the all- volunteer WEC has impacted over 10,000 students in Westerville City Schools through the support of programs like Challenge Day, Middle School Transition Events, Middle School Culture Summits, mentoring clubs, teacher grants and its newest initiative, Parent Prep. Over 1,500 community volunteers and 40 corporate and community sponsors partner with WEC, and together have contributed thousands of volunteer hours and raised over $250,000 in donations.
“Simply because we care, WEC brings together adults from across the district together to show our students that their social and emotional health is worth our investment,” said WEC Board President, Kristan Robertson, who is also a teacher and parent in the district. “As a result of these efforts, awareness has grown throughout the Westerville community about the importance of supporting the emotional wellness of students.”
Celebrate the 80s while supporting our kids’ future. The Medallion Club in Westerville will host the event and tickets are just $50 each and include two drink tickets and heavy appetizers. Eighty attire is optional, but the sponsors hope to see your turned up collared shirts, neon and acid-washed jeans!
