The Westerville Symphony at Otterbein University is proud to announce the first performance of their 2015-2016 Ron Lykins Masterworks Series with the Masterworks I concert Gavin George-Live on Your Screen!
On Sunday, October 11 at 5:00 PM audience members will experience a more relaxed environment than other classical music concerts. Audience members are encouraged to have their phones out (on silent of course) and a live Twitter feed will appear above the orchestra, displaying tweets from audience members across the world who can watch the performance live streamed online. This concert, funded by the PNC Arts Alive initiative, is an innovative program that creates an inviting and interactive environment for patrons to experience symphonic music while providing easy access to the concert material through technology.
The featured artist, Gavin George, is a twelve-year old piano prodigy from Newark, OH who began formal training at the age of 3 ½ years old. Gavin made his symphonic debut with the Newark-Granville Symphony at age seven playing the first movement of the Haydn Concerto in D Major. Since then he has performed with a number of orchestras in the United States and in recital series both here and abroad.
