The City is hosting a formal observance in recognition of the 20th anniversary of 9/11/01 on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at First Responders Park (374 W. Main St.) The exhibits will also be on display from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12.
Two decades after the deadliest attacks on U.S. soil, Westerville residents will gather to reflect on the world-changing events of 9/11 and discuss their hopes for the future.
Attendees will walk through First Responders Park taking in exhibits honoring what life was like before the attacks, the events of that tragic day and the heroes who stood up to terror and who ran toward danger to help.
Attendees will hear from Westerville students who were not yet born when the attacks occurred, yet whose entire lives have been shaped in the aftermath. Then, every attendee will be given the opportunity to declare their decision to “choose hope” for a better tomorrow.
This is a free event.
