Meet the Young Leader!
Kay Barker is the visionary founder and Chief Education Officer of Musicologie. After graduating college with degrees in vocal performance, psychology, and piano, she and her husband Joseph hit the road, touring the country with their band Bella Ruse. On tour, she opened renowned artists like Sarah McLachlan, Heart, Metric, and Walk The Moon, and Bella Ruse songs found their way into commercials, film, and television.
In 2014, Kay and Joseph founded Musicologie. Inspired by their experiences on the road and Kay's extensive background in music education, Musicologie is dedicated to providing exceptional private music lessons to students of all ages, instruments, and abilities. The mission extends beyond just lessons; it's about creating inclusive communities of music explorers and empowering music teachers to build sustainable careers. Kay believes that music is essential to our humanity and that every student deserves a great teacher.
