Join the City in the effort to “Light Ohio Blue” in honor of the Westerville Division of Police (WPD), their families and all other law enforcement agencies Wednesday, May 8 - Thursday, May 16.
Light Ohio Blue takes place in conjunction with National Police Week (Sunday, May 12-Saturday, May 18) and Peace Officers Memorial Day on Wednesday, May 15th. During National Police Week, a number of Westerville police officers will travel to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. where the names of Officers Morelli and Joering will be etched into the National Law Enforcement Memorial.
Light Ohio Blue is a statewide campaign to show support to the law enforcement personnel who protect our communities in Central Ohio and throughout our great state. We work to honor and pay respects to the law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty as well as those currently serving sworn and civilian staff.
Each year in May our staff works with several Central Ohio businesses to light the Columbus skyline blue. We also encourage every citizen to change their home exterior lights to blue to show their support for Law Enforcement personnel. As we move our campaign from just Central Ohio to throughout the state, we will be working with other areas of the state to spread the message and to get Ohio to light up blue!
Please visit our website for more information and join us in Light Ohio Blue!
