About the Foundation
The Westerville Parks Foundation supports and enhances parks and recreation opportunities throughout the community. As a working board, members actively contribute their time, skills, and ideas to advance our mission through fundraising, events, and community engagement.
Position Overview
Board members play a hands-on role in planning and executing initiatives that directly benefit Westerville parks and programs. This is an excellent opportunity to give back, expand your network, and make a visible difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in planning and supporting fundraising events (including the Bunny Hop & SpringFest)
- Assist with sponsorship outreach and donor engagement
- Contribute to marketing efforts (social media, newsletters, community outreach)
- Support organizational needs such as CRM management, communications, or event logistics
- Attend regular board meetings and actively participate in discussions and initiatives
Preferred Skills & Experience
(We welcome a variety of backgrounds—no one is expected to have everything!)
- Event planning or volunteer coordination
- Marketing, communications, or social media management
- Fundraising or sales experience
- Accounting or financial management (QuickBooks experience a plus)
- Nonprofit or board experience
- Strong community connections and a passion for parks and recreation
Time Commitment
- Monthly board meetings
- Additional time for events, committees, and projects (varies seasonally)
