What better way to cool off than with a tall glass of fresh lemonade—while helping fight childhood cancer?
June 8-10, more than 20,000 lemonade stands will be set up all over the country, including a stand at all Firebirds Wood Fired Grill locations, with one mission: Finding a cure.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was initiated by 4-year old Alexandra Scott. Alex was diagnosed with
neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer, before her first birthday. Alex’s dreamed up the idea of having a lemonade stand to help fight childhood cancer. Alex was successful and then issued a lemonade stand challenge, encouraging everyone, everywhere to hold lemonade stands during one weekend in June to help fight the fight – “One Cup at a Time”. Firebirds is honored to continue Alex’s vision and legacy again this year by participating in Alex’s Lemonade Days at ALL Firebirds locations the weekend of June 8th – 10th We already have a round-up donation line added to all guest checks in all restaurants.
Our mission is to create awareness for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and their efforts to find a cure. Our goal this year is $100,000 with 100% of the proceeds going directly to ALSF. We hit a milestone last year of $1 million in donations with our lemonade day efforts and our ongoing initiative where $1.25 is donated for every fresh squeezed lemonade sold throughout the year. Our signature Lemonade, “Alex’s Lemonade”, is named in honor of this brave young lady, Alexandra Scott (Alex’s Documentary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upmUrxmFSA0).
